Pokemon Go Safari Zone Event Details And Dates Revealed
Pokemon Go has had a major last few months, with gyms being overhauled, raids being introduced, and even their first Pokemon Go Fest, though the latter did not go too well. Niantic is looking to keep the momentum going with additional events that are known as Safari Zone events and now we have more details about them.
For now, the Pokemon Go Safari Zone events are exclusive to Europe and will kick off on September 16 at Unibail-Rodamco Shopping Centres located at CentrO in Oberhausen, Germany, Les Quatre Temps in Paris, France and La Maquinista in Barcelona, Spain.
Each event will provide players with a special in-game medal for attending, as well as special 2 km eggs that are found at the PokeStops at these specific shopping centers. These PokeStops will also have lures on them all day long, allowing players to catch not only normally rare Pokemon like Larvitar and Chansey, but also the usually Australian and New Zealand exclusive Kangaskhan. In addition, Niantic mentions in their press release that you may very well find Shiny Pikachus and Magikarps, as well as the various forms of Unown at these events too.
While the Safari Zone events are going on, gyms and raids will not be active, with the focus being on catching Pokemon only, just like in the usual Safari Zone in Pokemon games. Those who attend will also receive special trainer kits, though no details were given on what will be included in said kits.
You will soon be able to get free and nontransferrable tickets for the Safari Zone events to the events, which is in the form of a QR code. You will have to have over the age of 13 and have photo ID to get one if you are interested.
In addition, Niantic also announced additional Safari Zone events for next month, which will be in Fisketorvet in Copenhagen, Denmark and Centrum Černý Most in Prague, The Czech Republic on October 7, following by the Mall of Scandinavia in Stockholm, Sweden and Stadshart Amstelveen in Amstelveen, The Netherlands on October 14.
Hopefully we’ll see similar events in the US, but for now we’ll just have to see how they go in Europe. We can just hope it goes better than Pokemon Go Fest did in Chicago.
